Peace on Earth
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (John 14: 27. NIV)
Meditation: Looking beyond the birth of Jesus Christ, we have this comforting word of peace from our Lord Jesus Christ shortly before His ascension to heaven as it is recorded in John 14:27.
In another part of the Bible, Jesus said: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest [Matthew 11:28]”. As we celebrate this festive Christmas season with gifts, joy and peace with our friends and loved ones, let us also remember to extend God’s love, peace and comfort to those who need our care amidst this world of uncertainties.
Prayer:
Heaven Father, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, so that we can have eternal, abundant life in You. Thank You for Your eternal peace which transcends all understanding. Thank You for our brothers and sisters in Christ who share this Christmas joy with the street people and whom also administer to them regularly through the street ministry.
Thank you for our brothers and sisters in Christ who faithfully donate essential food items to replenish the church’s Food Bank for the poor and needy. Thank you also for our brothers and sisters in Christ who fill up school stationery in many wrapped-up shoeboxes as gifts to cheer up the out-of-town needy children and parents.
May Your name be glorified through them. May Your eternal peace fill this land as the water covers the sea. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

The Holy Alphabet
(extracted from Wesley Tidings June 2016 edition; sourced from online)
Although things are not perfect,
Because of trial or pain
Continue in thanksgiving
Don’t even think to blame.
Even when times are hard,
Fierce winds are bound to blow,
God is forever able
Hold on to what you know.
Imagine life without His love,
Joy would cease to be.
Keep thanking Him for all the things
Love imparts thee to see.
Move out of ‘Camp Complaining;
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone.
Quit worrying about the future
Redeem the time at hand,
Start every day with prayer
To ‘thank’ is God’s command.
Until we see Him coming,
Victorious in the sky,
We’ll run the race with gratitude,
Xalting God most high,
Yes, there’ll be good times and yes some will be bad, but …
Zion waits in glory… where none are ever sad!
