POSITION SUMMARY

To build healthy relationships with the youth that model a Christ-centered life and reflect encouragement and love for the youth as they grow in maturity and faith. This position will work closely with the Youth Ministry Council.

This position reports to the Pastor-in-charge.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

  • To build relationships with youth in ways that help foster faith development, spiritual maturity, and community.

  • To work with the Youth Council to develop, promote, and implement activities for the youth (13-21 years old).

  • To provide guidance and support based on Biblical principles to youth.

  • To help youths be equipped with practical organizational leadership skills like how to manage projects, how to do budgeting, how to lead and facilitate a discussion, how to solve problems, etc.

  • To have regular communication with youth, parents, and congregation concerning youth ministry activities.

  • To provide church-wide visibility and communication to youth activities.

  • Seeks to manage and expand youth ministries as well as incorporate youth into Sunday morning worship leadership.

  • To work with the Youth Council to identify, develop and implement solutions to strategic needs for the youth ministries.

  • To carry out work that the Pastor-in-charge may ask to do from time to time.

 

LEADERSHIP

  • Recruits, empowers and equips adult volunteers from within the congregation to regularly help with youth groups, youth meetings, and other activities.

  • Able to develop structured programmes and courses to equip and empower mentors in their role; enhancing their biblical knowledge; keeping relevance with current issues..

  • Encourages and recruits congregation members to participate as leaders and mentors in the youth ministries.

  • Manages administrative youth ministry budget.

  • Seeks to deepen the discipleship of children, youth, families, and congregation members as a leader.

  • Participate in the Local Church Executive Committee (LCEC).

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated mature and growing faith in Jesus Christ.

  • 2-5 years experiences in Youth Ministry.

  • Preferably below 40 years old

  • Good interpersonal skills with strong relationship-building mindset.

  • Preferably to have a certificate/diploma/degree in Theological studies. If not, would be open to pursuing one.

  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills.

  • Moderate to advanced computer skills to facilitate ministry activities.
