Position: Teacher

We are currently looking for a Kindergarten Teacher who has a strong passion in early childhood education, and strive to build meaningful relationships with our students.  We believe that our students deserve our love and respect amidst the formal education rendered.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

Primary role is to inspire children to have a holistic learning, not only towards the children under your charge but the whole
Wesley Methodist Kindergarten (WMK) and coworkers too.

This position reports in to the WMK’s Principal.

 

  •  Teachers are expected to:

    • Plan and carry out age appropriate daily activities and lessons which are aligned with KSPK Standards, for children aged four (4) to six (6) years.

    • Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities, to encourage creative thinking and nurture the joy of learning.

    • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children, always having the best interest of children in mind.

    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders – direct report, fellow workers, children and parents.

    • Keep accurate records of the children’s progress and communicate with parents about the children’s progress.

    • Update all relevant data for reference and also submission to MOE, Eg: attendance & lesson plans.

    • Meet weekly for planning and review.

    • Co-work with all parties in WMK and also child’s family to support children to have desired learning outcomes in their early childhood years.

    • Work together and support peers in organizing and implementation of school events.

    • Some administrative duties other than the general class administration may be delegated to different teachers.

    • Render basic first aid as and when necessary.

 

Teachers who are of the Christian faith will be required to teach Bible Lessons.  Teachers who are of other faiths, will not be required to teach or conduct devotional classes, but must be respectful during those periods, and not distract the children.

 

Working Hours

As stated in the employment terms during school term.   May be required occasionally to work during school breaks as and when required by the management.

 

Requirements and Skills

  • Diploma/Degree in Early Childhood / Education

  • Able to communicate well in English (Spoken and Written)

  • Additional fluency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is an advantage.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Relevant experience in similar field is an advantage.

  • Experience in using multimedia is an advantage.

  • Able to work as a team, and independently when needed.

  • Positive work attitude and behavior.

  • Strong passion to nurture young children.
